With every couple that we sit down and talk with about their entertainment needs, it’s like starting with a blank canvas. We feel that music helps set the tone for the entire day from the walk down the aisle to the final farewell.

So you can imagine why your DJ has such an important role in your big day!

To help you select the right DJ, we have compiled some questions for you to ask your DJ before booking.

The more you know the better the right decision you’ll be able to make.

Let’s get the basic questions out of the way. First and foremost, is your wedding date available?

2. Do you perform at more than one wedding a day?
3. Can you describe your style?
4. Will you be my DJ or someone else?
5. What other services do you provide?
6. Can you share recent couple’s testimonials?

Setting the Tone

As we mentioned that the music you select will set the tone for the day, we need to cover some important questions to go over about music.

1. Do you emcee and make all announcements?
2. What is your emcee style?
3. Do you have samples of you playing at a wedding?
4. Will you be able to help me with song suggestions? From processional to final farewell?
5. Do you have a list of “go-to” wedding songs?
6. How many breaks do you require?
7. What kind of music plays on your break?
8. How do you motivate a crowd to dance?
9. Can we request no explicit music?
10. Can we submit a “do not play” list?

The Nitty Gritty

Pricing is probably your top priority of questions to ask, right?!

Giving you a number can be so easy BUT you want to find out what is all included in that pricing, so we have some questions for you to ask your potential DJ. 

1. How far in advance should I book?
2. When do we sign a written contract?
3. What is your deposit? And when is the final payment due?
4. What is your refund/cancellation policy?
5. Are you insured? 
6. What are your packages?
7. What is all included in each package? Setup and breakdown for ceremony and reception? 
8. Do you charge for overtime?
9. Are there any additional fees that could be accrued? 
10. When is our deadline for submitting our music requests and event details? 
11.  What do you need from us before the wedding day?

Planning Your Day
